Best Hair Removal Methods
65You have no doubt realized by now that there are a lot of hair removal methods and you are trying to figure out which is best for you. You have researched on the internet. You have talked to all of your friends and you've made a few phone calls. Still, you are trying to come up with a decision on the best method for you.
You could bleach it, pluck it, tweeze it, pull it, laser it, wax it or even electrolysis. It's enough to spin your head.
The best hair removal method depends upon you. Yes you. It depends on a lot of things. Do you have dark or light hair? How is your pain threshold when it comes to removing the unwanted hair? If it's very low, that will play a big part in your decision.
Hair Removal Methods
Where is the hair? It's easy to get rid of hair but most people desire permanent hair removal if they are searching the internet to this extent that you may have found this page. Do you understand your hair? I'm not being silly, do you understand how your hair grows? Your hair consists of a single shaft and grows from a follicle. There are 3 phases of hair growth but that is just a little to much info and most people do not need to delve in that deep.
If you choose a method of hair removal that actually pulls the hair out, it can get the job done and will be fairly inexpensive. It will not grow back very fast. If you keep pulling it out or using an epilator, it's likely you will permanently damage the hair follicles and that time it will cease growing hair. That's what you want anyway, isn't it?
Tweezing
You can tweeze it out but that can be slightly painful and tedious. Eyebrows are usually tweezed but not much other body hair. Hair has to be long enough to be grabbed by the tweezers and by then you can see the hair. Men may not mind but the ladies do not like to let the offending hair grow enough as to be visible.
Waxing
The ladies who just read this and have experienced a wax job just flinched. It's great if you want to remove a large area of hair. Warm wax is spread over the area and then it's pulled against the growth of the hair. Can you say Ouch!? Sugar waxing has become more and more popular. it works the same way as waxing but because it's sugar based, the cleanup with warm water is a lot easier.
Laser
Expensive and can require many treatments. If you are blonde, red or gray headed, this method will not be effective for you. Laser treatments work best on dark hair and light skin. The good thing is that laser hair removal is usually permanent.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis is actually the only permanent hair removal method approved by the FDA. It works on the principal of electricity and a probe stuck into the hair follicle to kill it. You will still need multiple sessions. It does not target the pigment of your hair like laser does so it is very effective. It mostly stings and there is not much pain associated with it.
Those are just a few of the choices you have when it comes to different methods of hair removal. I hope I have helped you somewhat on your journey of knowledge. Good luck on your decision.
